ABOUT THE PROJECT
We’re working with a client in the skincare and beauty industry, building a prototype device that combines robotics, AR, and real-time systems. The robot prototype is underway, and now it’s time to build the very first version of the companion software — the backbone that will power internal testing and the first beta users. As our Backend Engineer, you’ll build the services that connect the device, mobile app, and data systems, making them work together reliably in real time. WHO YOU ARE
- Design, build, and maintain backend services (Node.js or Python).
- Develop integrations with hardware systems, APIs, and real-time data streams.
- Implement Bluetooth and/or network communication layers between the device and apps.
- Ensure backend infrastructure is scalable, secure, and reliable.
- Collaborate with hardware, robotics, and mobile engineers to enable seamless end-to-end experiences.
- Support rapid prototyping and iteration in an early-stage startup environment.
MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong experience in backend development with Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
- Proven track record of integrating with hardware systems, APIs, and real-time data streams.
- Experience with Bluetooth or network communication between devices and applications.
- Solid understanding of system architecture, data flow, and performance optimization.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative startup environment.
NICE TO HAVE
- Previous experience with robotics, IoT devices, or AR-related products.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Interest in beauty tech, computer vision, or human-computer interaction.
