All help counts

When was the last time you offered help to someone just because you could? No, we’re not talking about building a school or donating half your paycheck. We mean holding the door, checking in on a friend you’ve been “too busy” to call, or giving to a cause you believe in.
See? Sometimes, it only takes showing up. All help counts. And if you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got a few stories that might give you ideas. Keep reading. Also don’t forget to check previous blog post.
Getting kids ready for school
The start of the school year should be a happy memory. A new milestone full of excitement. But for many families, it’s a stressful time because they simply can’t afford all the supplies their children need. That’s where initiatives like Košice IT pomáha step in, bringing people and companies together to make things a little easier.
IT companies joined forces, and targeted help went to kids who would otherwise start their year without it. The collection is governed by non-profit organization Sociálne bývanie, which helps ensure the support gets to where it’s needed most. Because every child deserves to feel prepared — not embarrassed or left out. For some, a schoolbag is just a schoolbag. For others, it’s a chance to feel included, confident, and equal among their classmates.

Young innovators with big dreams
Kids are naturally curious, and some of them are already thinking way ahead. The LegoTeam Medzany is a great example. Their passion for technology and problem-solving recently took them to the WRO European Open in Slovenia, where they ranked among the top 10 teams!

We’ve been supporting this team and the World Robot Olympiad for a while now. Watching these kids take on challenges, come up with ideas, and achieve big things at such a young age is always something special. They’re not just building robots, they build confidence, skills, and ambition for the future.
Auction fun for a good cause
As an IT company, we have a lot of hardware we no longer use, so we decided it was time to find it a new home. We gathered everything, grabbed a small hammer, and our COO took on the role of auctioneer.
This internal event was a big success! Many of us walked away with some “new” tech, and we had a lot of fun shouting out our price offers and trying to outbid each other.
BUT! Most importantly, all the raised money will be added to our Christmas raffle collection and donated to Onkomamky, a nonprofit that supports mothers undergoing cancer treatment and recovery. A fun afternoon became something truly meaningful, and that’s a win all around.
Power as responsibility, not control
The word “power” often carries a negative tone, but that wasn’t the case in our “Work with power” session organized by Stop Corruption Foundation. An organization we’ve been supporting for a long time through various initiatives and events.
Why did this session feel different? Because we left with a message that turned it around:
“I stand up for my power and recognize the power of others.”
Power isn’t about formal roles or titles. It shows up in how we listen, how we speak, how we include and support others. When we start using it more consciously, it can lead to stronger relationships, better collaboration, and workplaces where people feel safe, respected, and seen.
This workshop helped us see our own influence more clearly and offered tools for handling emotions, owning our voice, and being mindful of the privileges we might not even notice. It was real and practical. Messages we all should carry forward — inside and outside the office.

Wearing pink for a reason
Pink is just a color most of the year, but every October it quietly reminds us of the people dealing with breast cancer and the friends and family trying to hold them up.
On Breast Cancer Awareness Day, we wore pink ribbons as a simple yet powerful way to show we care. It’s not only about the symbol, it’s about keeping the conversation going and reminding ourselves that prevention and early detection matter. Whether it's scheduling a check-up or encouraging someone else to do the same, every step counts. Because awareness can truly save lives. So, do you have your appointment yet?

Collection for LUX
Our collaboration with the LUX Social Center has been going strong for a few years now. And as always, we organized our autumn/winter collection to support them. We looked through our closets and brought in clothes and items we no longer use and could be a real help to someone else. The best part? LUX organized a little clothing fair! That “shopping feeling” became a moment of joy and choice for the residents.
LUX provides care for people with mental and physical disabilities, and we try to support them in different ways. Whether it’s through these collections, helping out with their garden or contributing to trips that bring them new experiences and happy memories.
Because even small acts of kindness can make everyday life feel a little lighter.
A sweet way to give back
As part of our efforts to support sustainability and local ecosystems, we rented two beehives from a beekeeper Marián Krupeľák earlier this year. Now, we’re seeing (and tasting!) the results!
…and to pass it on
We’ve set aside some of the honey for the LUX Social Centre. A few months back, they received therapeutic dolls to help ease anxiety and stress. Now, they can enjoy a calming cup of tea with honey and lavender, both known for their soothing effects. It’s a small gift, but like bees — small doesn’t mean insignificant.
Helping young gymnasts train safely
When kids chase their dreams, the least we can do is help make the path a little smoother. That’s why we donated training mattresses to a gymnastics school Gymba. Now girls can practice safely, push their limits, and have fun! Seeing their smiles must melt every heart 🙂

How much love can fit into a shoebox?
Christmas time is meant to be spent surrounded by loved ones. But sadly, not everyone gets to experience the holiday season this way. Many elderly people spend Christmas alone without visits, gifts, or even conversation.
Actually it doesn’t take much to make someone feel seen, appreciated, and brighten their day. All you need is a shoebox. Literally! And a few thoughtful gifts. Warm socks, sweets, puzzles, or a good book. Want to bring a moment of joy? There are plenty of initiatives you can join!

And finally... Giving Tuesday
Most of the activities you’ve seen here (and in our previous blog post) were part of this year’s Giving Tuesday. Some big, some small, but all of them done with care.
Our message? Give a damn. 💙 Help those who need it. Not for the spotlight. But because it matters. Anything can turn someone’s day around. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be something.

As a Social Media Specialist, I aspire to promote our company's name with perfection and consistently deliver high quality content on our networks, always eager to learn new ways to improve our visibility. When I'm not creating posts, you'll find me on an adventure, curled up with a good book, or savoring a glass of fine wine.
