MuleSoft connector development

MuleSoft needed a trusted development partner that could integrate with its teams and support a broad range of products and integration solutions. This required in-depth platform expertise, collaboration with distributed teams, and consistent delivery within strict quality and time-to-market requirements.

The work spanned retail, banking, healthcare, API management, developer portals, connectors, and integration templates. The Hotovo teams also had to adapt to changing requirements and handle support escalations, connector certification, and the evolving needs of the MuleSoft ecosystem.

Hotovo supported MuleSoft from its early stages through its IPO and subsequent acquisition by Salesforce.

The Hotovo team implemented Catalyst Accelerators for Retail, Banking, and Healthcare, covering solutions from UI portals to backend systems. Our team designed, developed, and delivered solutions that met MuleSoft’s requirements and deadlines.

Retail Catalyst Accelerator

The Catalyst Accelerator for Retail is a set of API designs and reference implementations that support digital transformation. It provides a UI portal built on a microservices-based architecture for omnichannel retail use cases.

The accelerator supports processes such as customer onboarding, product availability, and order fulfillment, requiring real-time integration across e-commerce platforms, CRM systems, and other systems of record.

Banking Catalyst Accelerator

The Banking Catalyst Accelerator supports payment services under the PSD2 directive and integration with core banking systems such as AS/400, Temenos, and Salesforce. Key features include:

1. Open Banking standards
2. Reusable and secure reference architecture
3. Industry-specific endpoints

Healthcare Catalyst Accelerator

The Healthcare Catalyst Accelerator provides an end-to-end reference implementation of the FHIR standard. It enables healthcare providers to exchange data between electronic medical record (EMR) systems and mobile and web applications while providing secure and governed data access.

MuleSoft Anypoint Developer Portal

Companies use the Anypoint Platform to expose APIs securely. The goal of the project was to provide a unified way to create and publish web portals for developers building applications using these APIs.

The Hotovo team developed a developer portal for presenting third-party APIs through tutorials, RAML consoles, forums, and blogs. Each portal was hosted by MuleSoft and customized to the client’s corporate identity.

The project integrated user authentication, APIs, RAML definitions, and API Notebooks with the Anypoint Platform, with a focus on usability and UI design.

The Hotovo team introduced best practices for Mule ESB integrations through reusable integration templates and examples published on Anypoint Exchange.

Our team developed new templates covering additional scenarios and connectors and maintained the existing library of templates and examples.

B2B Partner Manager development

Partner Manager provides a web-based interface for managing business partners and monitoring standardized B2B transactions.

The Hotovo team contributed to the design and implementation of B2B Partner Manager solutions using B2B standards, protocols, and data formats including EDI, X12, AS2, and CSV.

Custom Mule ESB connector - Atlassian Jira

The Hotovo team developed a MuleSoft-certified Jira Connector for Mule ESB, providing secure access to Jira data through the REST API.

The connector supports Basic HTTP authentication over SSL and can be used for both pushing and retrieving data.

Custom Mule ESB connector - Atlassian STASH

The Hotovo team developed an Atlassian Stash (now Bitbucket Server) connector for Mule ESB, providing secure access to Stash through its REST API.

The connector allows applications to perform operations exposed by the Stash REST API without requiring developers to build and secure custom integrations.

Custom Mule ESB connector - Dropbox

The Hotovo team developed a Dropbox Connector for MuleSoft that uses access token authentication to establish a secure connection with Dropbox.

The connector integrates Mule ESB with the Dropbox REST API, enabling users to access, manage, push, and retrieve data.

MuleSoft Connectors development

The Hotovo team designed and implemented MuleSoft-branded connectors for selected systems. Our work included developing new connectors from scratch, as well as maintaining, fixing, and improving existing ones. The team also upgraded connectors from older runtimes and supported quality-to-market processes. We successfully addressed time-to-market challenges, service escalations, and incident requests.

MuleSoft connectors are a core part of the Anypoint Platform and are widely used by MuleSoft customers for integration.

MuleSoft Composer Connectors development

MuleSoft Composer is a low-code integration tool that enables non-developers to connect applications and data. Built on the Anypoint Platform, it benefits from enterprise-grade runtime, monitoring, security, governance, and collaboration capabilities.

The Hotovo teams were among the first at MuleSoft to develop connectors for Composer. They worked with new technologies and contributed to the development of tooling and approaches that supported the rapid expansion of the Composer connector portfolio.

Our work covered the full connector development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance.

Enhancing MuleSoft's internal tools

The Hotovo team enhanced MuleSoft’s internal tools, with a focus on CI/CD capabilities and tooling infrastructure for connector development.

Our work covered the entire connector lifecycle, from generation to packaging and deployment. By introducing CI/CD automation, we reduced manual processes, improved developer productivity, and supported faster delivery of high-quality connectors.

The team also improved MuleSoft’s tooling ecosystem by adding new capabilities and optimizing the developer experience, making connector development and delivery more efficient.
